Blue Mountain Retreat is a private house in Chimacum, Washington, near Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula. Dave and Patti Gale own it. This page covers the website at bluemountainretreat.com: the inquiry form, the OwnerRez calendar and booking widgets, the payment page at /pay, and cookies.
We use what you send so Dave can answer a date question, hold a stay, or match a payment to a booking. We do not sell guest information.
Inquiry form
The question form on the contact page asks for your first name, last name, email, phone, and the kind of stay you are planning. You can also add preferred dates, a group size, and a message.
That request is emailed to bluemountainretreat@yahoo.com. Resend delivers the message. If a guest-relationship account is connected for this house, the same name, email, phone, and stay notes are saved there so Dave can reply. A hidden field on the form is used to drop automated submissions. It is not stored as a guest record.
OwnerRez booking and calendar
The contact page shows an OwnerRez calendar and an inquiry widget for this house only. The widgets load from OwnerRez (app.ownerrez.com). Dates you view, and the booking request you send through the widget, go to OwnerRez. OwnerRez holds the calendar. Dave confirms whether the house is open.
The site also loads OwnerRez’s widget script so those tools can run. OwnerRez may set its own cookies and keep the details of a booking request under its privacy practices. We use that information to follow up about your stay.
Payments, Stripe, and Resend
Guests with a payment link can pay a deposit or a balance at /pay by bank transfer or card. Stripe collects the payment details and processes the charge. This website does not store your full card number or bank account number. Stripe tells us the payment status, and whether a card is a credit card, so a credit card can include the 2.9% fee. A debit card or a bank transfer stays at the quoted amount.
A payment link can include the booking number, whether it is a deposit or a balance, the amount, a short label for the stay, and the guest email address already on the booking. We keep a payment record — booking number, amount, guest first name, stay label, and Stripe payment status — so the payment can be matched, looked up, or refunded. That record lives with this site’s payment store. It is not a marketing list.
Resend emails payment notices to bluemountainretreat@yahoo.com: paid, failed, processing, and returned bank payments. The same mailbox receives the owner sign-in link for the payment office. That link works for 15 minutes. Opening it sets an HttpOnly cookie named bmr_office in that browser for 30 days so the office page stays signed in. The cookie is for the owners’ payment page. It is not used to track guests around the site.
Cookies and analytics
The site may set or load the following, depending on the page:
- OwnerRez. The widget script loads with the site. The calendar and inquiry widgets run on the contact page. OwnerRez may set cookies on its side.
- Google Analytics. When a measurement ID is turned on, Google’s script loads and may set cookies to count page visits.
- HighLevel. When a tracking ID is turned on, a page-view script from HighLevel may set cookies. Inquiry details may also be stored in that account, as described above.
- Google Maps. The contact page embeds a map of 516 Blue Mountain Rd, Chimacum, WA 98325. Google may receive that the map was loaded.
- Stripe. The payment page loads Stripe.js only while you are paying.
- Owner sign-in. The
bmr_officecookie described above, and only after an owner opens a sign-in link.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The calendar, the inquiry widget, and card payment need those services to run. Calling or emailing Dave still works if you would rather not use the forms.
Who else sees it
Dave and Patti see inquiries and payment notices at bluemountainretreat@yahoo.com. OwnerRez sees booking and calendar activity. Stripe sees payment details. Resend carries the email. Google and HighLevel see analytics only when those tools are turned on. The Idaho house, Three Peaks Lodge, is a separate website with its own calendar and payments. A stay at Blue Mountain is not filed there.
Inquiry email stays in Dave’s mailbox so he can answer and keep a record of the conversation. Payment records stay with the booking, including any refund, and for the tax records a stay requires.
